Chuan brings more than thirteen years of experience as a venture capitalist and international business executive to the firm. At Highland, Chuan is focusing on investments in consumer oriented technology sectors (new media, Internet, finance and telecom services) with a particular emphasis on emerging growth opportunities in China and Asia more broadly. Chuan has co-led Highland's investments in Qihoo and UUSee.  Prior to joining Highland, Chuan was a Partner at JAFCO America Ventures, responsible for JAFCO’s venture investment operations on the east coast of the US. He divided his time between venture investments and Asia business development activities. During this period, Chuan contributed to the growth and success of Pirus Networks (acquired by Sun Microsystems), Crescent Networks (acquired by Marconi) and edocs (acquired by Siebel).

ID One specialized in facial recognition technology, until recently selling its facial recognition, government business, to an undisclosed corporation. Marc continues as an advisor to leaders in the field of biometrics as well as numerous other emerging technologies. Most recently, he has primarily been working with inventor Dean Kamen of DEKA Research.
