Nick Ning (President) has been a tech lead since 2007 at ITA whose search engine powers Orbitz. During 2004 to 2006, Nick helped the engineering efforts for Sursen China and Biscom USA. As VP Engineering at Sursen, he streamlined the growing engineering team processes, and led the initial development of UOML format which is under adoption process by OASIS consortium. At Biscom, he scaled up the video management system for high-end market and connected Sursen and Biscom for business collaboration. In 2001, he was a lead developer at a marketing automation startup MarketSoft till 2003. From 1997 to 2000, he helped EMC to develop EMC Control Center from conception to full product. Nick started his professional career building performance expert system at DEC and was a key engineer of Sybase Central and database replication software at Sybase since 1995. Nick received BS from Nankai University, MS in CS and PhD in Math from University of Cincinnati.
Yi Qian (1st Vice President) is VP Engineering at Dimensional Photonics International, Inc, Wilmington, MA. He is responsible for product development and manufacturing of 3D digital scanning products for both industrial and dental CAD/CAM applications. The industrial product line was acquired by Faro Technologies in April 2008. Previously, he served as VP Technology & Business Development at PowerNetix, San Jose, CA, developing strategic partnerships. Prior to that, he was Technical Director for marketing/sales in Greater China at Photonics Technology Division of Corning Inc. Based in Bedford, MA and Shenzhen, China, he was instrumental in technical sales and strategic marketing in China. From 1997 to 2003, he was with Lasertron and then Corning Lasertron after Corning's acquisition in 1999. He was Director of Engineering and developed semiconductor photonics products for optical communication systems. From 1995 to 1997, he worked on nano-fabrication and novel semiconductor materials and devices as a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University. Before that, he worked on nano-technologies and Si-based photonics in the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China where he obtained his Ph.D. degree in Physics. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He has 8 issued and pending patents and has authored some 45 publications.
